Rebecca Jordan

Special Education Educator and Find My Fidget co-founder

Hi, my name is Rebecca Jordan. I am the co-founder of Find My Fidget. I have worked as a Special Education Teacher since graduating from Luther College in 2008. I earned my Masters of Arts in Education from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2012. I am currently working in the Twin Cities metro area as a Teacher on Special Assignment, working as both a member of an Autism Assessment Team and a Lead Teacher.

As a special education teacher, fidgets were always an essential part of my classroom used as a tool to help students focus and access learning. It wasn’t until I became a parent that I realized that fidgets are effective tools beyond the classroom walls. As a parent of two kids who love to move, I have seen first hand the absolute magic of a handheld fidget. This winter, I took my early elementary aged son to the high school state hockey tournament. As I packed up all the things I thought we would need, I reached for the monkey noodle at the bottom of my work bag. Let me tell you - that monkey noodle ended up being a lifesaver for the both of us. We arrived at the rink early and the game before ours went into overtime.

Now my kid loves sports, but I was worried about how he would do with the delay in schedule without the opportunity to move. Behold the magic of the monkey noodle! My son played with the monkey noodle in his hands through the duration of both hockey games - that was when his Grandpa wasn’t vying for a turn. This experience cemented my belief that the need to fidget and move is universal, fidgets are for everyone and can they be used anywhere!

Marno Simon

Occupational Therapist and Find My Fidget co-founder

I have been a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Minnesota since 1999. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from the College of St. Catherine’s, I worked in pediatric and adult clinical practice for fourteen years. In the fall of 2013, I transitioned into the school setting and one week later my husband and I welcomed our neurodivergent daughter into our family. In 2015, I completed my Masters in Arts in Education from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Over the years as our daughter developed and her needs changed, her need for fidgets became essential. During this time, I discovered that anything can be a fidget and fidgets that were durable, affordable and provided minimal distraction were exactly what I needed. I developed a passion of working within a tight budget to find fidgets that were not only effective but were worth the money. Each time I celebrated finding a fidget that met both of my criteria, I considered it a huge win! Then it got me thinking, how can I share what I have learned to help other occupational therapists, teachers and families access fidgets that were both high quality, effective and the right price point. This question sparked the idea for Find My Fidget.

It has always been our purpose and devotion to tap into our students’ abilities and help them grow into the amazing beings that we know they are. We dedicate this mission to them.

What others have to say about us.

“As a classroom teacher, my students use the fidgets from the EMBRACE tool kit everyday. The most effective fidgets for all of my learners are the ones that can be hidden while being used. That way the students using a fidget don’t distract their peers around them.”

“As a special education teacher at the middle school level, I see the benefits of fidgets on a daily basis. In addition to learning disabilities, many of my students present with ADHD, anxiety, and depression. They find it difficult to focus in class and struggle with executive functioning skills and self-regulation skills. Fidgets have provided my students with a way to calm and self-soothe their nervous system which improves their ability to concentrate.I have found fidgets to be an incredible tool to help my students make academic progress.”
